Fundraising for Mobile Spay & Neuter Clinic
Southern Oregon
No one loves animals more than Candy Morasch. She wakes up in the morning to take care of her farm animals, she goes to work to help more animals, and then she comes home to take care of her animals all over again. This passion didn’t start last night, but it may very well have started at night.
Candy has been around horses all her life. In fact, she declares that horses saved her life. She was born and raised in Grants Pass, Oregon, but she left on an adventure to explore the globe many years ago. She had many challenges to overcome in her life, but she persevered and accomplished all she set out to do.Â
Candy’s Fighting Spirit
Candy used her fighting spirit and passion for horses to drive her to accomplish many different goals in her life. She overcame a stutter with an amazing education and she has focused on helping animals, as well as people, ever since.
Once Upon A Horse was born out of the vision of helping other people. Their primary focus is on helping communication-impaired individuals connect and build relationships with others through therapeutic riding lessons as well as caring for, loving and enjoying Morgan Horses. Their mission statement says it all: “Once Upon A Horse salvages lives and builds bridges from failure to success utilizing Morgan Horses to enhance human potential.”
Although Once Upon A Horse focuses primarily on horses, there is no limit to the vastness of the hearts of the individuals involved, including Candy. Her heart is big enough for all the animals in the world, but she needs help to help the animals.Â
Mobile Spay & Neuter Clinic Fundraising
They are currently fundraising for a mobile spay and neuter vet clinic. The clinic will serve the Grants Pass and the greater Josephine County area and will provide low cost spay and neuter services, adoption events, pet care seminars, and more to the Southern Oregon region.
There is a very large need for a mobile spay and neuter clinic to take the burden off of Veterinarians and animal owners, especially those who live in remote areas. The procedure is a simple procedure and can be done easily and quickly at someone’s home so they don’t have to drive all the way into town.
Overpopulation & Animal CrueltyÂ
Currently, overpopulation and animal cruelty rule the house pet kingdom and are both the bi-products of the lack of control and lack of reach for those most affected. The animals don’t have a choice, nor a voice, so Candy stands up for them and wholeheartedly acts in their best interests to ensure their safety.
Another benefit to a mobile vet unit is that more animals will be better taken care of by the Vets. Their loads will be significantly reduced, which will allow them to focus on more of the significant animal issues. It’s a win-win for everyone.
There’s so much more to come so if you have a huge heart like Candy, you can Get Involved by Becoming a Volunteer, you can Donate Directly to the Once Upon A Horse on GoFundMe or in person. Whatever you choose, Candy and all the Once Upon A Horse members, staff and animals, would greatly appreciate your involvement and support. They will surely welcome you with open arms. All you have to do is open yours too!
