Helping Kids Achieve Independence
Canine Angels fills a unique niche by providing service animals to youth with disabilities. Many of the dogs in the program don’t make it all the way through to the end. They must have the right demeanor and be able to be around lots of people without distraction to everyone around them. The chosen service dogs go through a lot of training prior to graduating from the program.
It’s an amazing experience to see how well behaved the dogs are, even when they are still going through the program as puppies. Their behavior is not as noticeable when there is only one of them, but when they are in a group, it’s very easy to notice just how well-behaved they are. They are all very happy and enjoy being around people.
Canine Angels is always looking for great people to raise dogs as well as to volunteer for other aspects of the organization. Again, there are many ways to Get Involved with the community. If you, or someone you know, loves dogs, lives in Southern Oregon and is interested in participating, please reach out to them directly or Register to Volunteer With Us at the next Spirit of the Fair Charity Fundraiser featuring Canine Angels. It just might be the best decision you ever made.
