Are You Feeling Deflated?
When Was The Last Time You Checked Your Inflatables?
This is a PSI Announcement!
How many PSI are your vehicle tires? Get out there and check them!
This ‘Pounds per Square Inch Announcement’ is in regards to your vehicle tires. If you haven’t checked the tire pressure in a while, now is the time. You should be checking them regularly, anyway, but that’s beside the point. Get out there and check them. They’re probably low and you didn’t even realize it.
You may or may not be aware, but your tire pressure is very important. The obvious reason is that you don’t want to get a flat tire. Having the tire pressure at the proper amount also saves money on wear and tear, and most importantly, improves fuel efficiency in your vehicle.
If you own a newer vehicle, your car may notify you on the dashboard when it’s time to fill at least one of your tires. However, you can’t count on it. You have to think of it as an emergency backup. What if the sensor is malfunctioning? Then what? You may not even know there’s a problem unless you are checking regularly.
Another thing, don’t always count on the service center to check the air in your tires. Even if they offer the service, and even if they say they checked them, the only way to know for sure is to check them yourself. You should check them at least once a month, and since you typically will only take your vehicle into the service center once every 3-4 months, that’s obviously not nearly enough.
Just recently my low tire pressure warning came on in my car. I hadn’t checked the tire pressure in my vehicle in a while (I’m just as guilty). I was very surprised that all my tires were pretty much spot on from the previous time I took my car in, but the front passenger tire was a lot lower than the rest. I had a feeling there may be a leak of some sort, but it was too soon to tell.
A few days go by and sure enough, the light comes on again. I’m very thankful that my car has the alarm, but I still don’t trust it. I know I need to get out there and check my tires so I set an alarm on my phone to make sure that I check the air pressure at least once a month. I made an appointment with the local Point S Tires and took my car in right away.
They’re always busy so I made an appointment for the next morning. They got me in and out in no time. Thankfully it was just a nail in my tire, but anytime I need new tires, I know where I’ll be headed. Thank you, Point S!
