An Introduction to Mini Monster Trucks

High Risk Mini Monster Truck Corbin Shockey

Featuring Corbin Shockey & High Risk

As a fan of Monster trucks, one of the ultimate dreams would be to have the opportunity to get behind the wheel and to feel the 1,500 horsepower engine rip, roar and tear through, over and around anything in its path.

One of the best ways to accomplish this dream is to start very young through other types of motorsports. Corbin began his career racing Jr. Outlaws and Mini Dwarfs. Through the connections his parents made within the sport, they purchased the High Risk Mini Monster Truck (formerly Wrecking Machine) and the rest is history.

For those interested in getting involved with mini monster trucks, High Risk has a Honda D16 engine, early 80’s Toyota axles, and a Honda automatic 4-speed transmission. His truck’s manufacturer is Beast Mode Fabrications. monstertruck.fandom.com/wiki/High_Risk_(Mini)

Corbin has now been driving High Risk professionally for more than five years (as of Dec. 2020). He and his father, Eric Shockey, travel the western United States with WGAS Motorsports, as well as other production companies, putting on freestyle shows for fans of all ages.

High Risk & Spirit of the Fair

Corbin, his supporting father, Eric, and the High Risk Mini Monster Truck recently joined the Spirit of the Fair to focus on connecting with fans as well as promoting ‘Give First – Give Back – Give Often’ to impact local communities through community service and fundraising for nonprofit organizations.

Even though the COVID pandemic has made 2020 a difficult year for everyone, the High Risk crew were out connecting with the local community in Chula Vista, CA during the very first Spirit of the Fair Monster Truck Charity Fundraiser Meet and Greet Retreat at the Ayres Hotel. It was a great weekend for raising funds for Youth Empowerment San Diego (a local youth educational nonprofit organization) with loads of support from the entire community.

Get Involved

While many parents wish they could get their kids involved with motorsports, they may think they are not be able to afford the high cost of one of the sports, or they may not know how to go about it.

Most people get involved with motorsports through friends and family connections, but with the power of social media and the internet, just about anyone can get involved with any sport by connecting with people online.

Either way, the Spirit of the Fair is here to assist. It’s up to you to Get Involved, but we’ll help you make the necessary connections. Regardless of your budget, there are multiple motorsport options available (i.e., lawn mower racing, jr. outlaws and mini dwarfs as well as go kart racing). Check out the Get Involved page to learn more.
